Becoming an Academy

If, after reading our pages, you feel that CMAT’s vision and values would align with your aspirations and those of your school, please get in contact (we are not as off-putting as the images on this site may suggest).

CMAT is a very supportive organization. Our Principals meet regularly to discuss school improvement, innovation and how we can share resources to make a difference to the young people and communities we serve. Network meetings are held for subject teaching staff and for colleagues in other roles to provide support and quality assurance across our family of schools.

Our trust central services team provide leadership and support in Finance, IT, Estates and Facilities, and Human Resources. The trust maintains a range of contracts with core providers of wider services including audit, legal, catering, public relations, and health and safety. Our goal is to ensure that all of our academies have the resources and access to expertise to maximize their impact.

So, if you are:

  • A good or outstanding school or academy considering the potential benefits of joining a Multi-Academy Trust
  • Considering making a Free School Proposal in this region
  • An academy or school currently facing a period of difficulty that would like to explore how a partnership with us may help
  • A small Multi-Academy Trust or federation already benefitting from economies of scale and would like to explore how this could be maximised by working with another group of schools

We welcome exploratory conversations with schools and proposer groups who feel that working with us may bring mutual benefits.

Through careful, considered and timely growth our aim is to be one of the leading providers of high quality education in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region.

We have no interest in being the largest, we merely aspire to provide the very best education we can for the communities we live in and serve.

Mark Woods, Executive Principal or Shirley Jamieson, Chair of Trustees are both happy to start a conversation that concerns how we advance education in our communities. Click here to use the contact form.
