CMAT account authentication is managed by the ADFS (Active Directory Federated Service). Your user account is created and managed by the Trust’s Active Directory, and your login information – not including your password – is synced to Microsoft’s Azure Active Directory in the cloud every hour.

Your password remains within CMAT. On CMAT systems, your password is “hashed” – an irreversible cryptographic technique used to add to its security.

If you access the Microsoft portal (e.g. for Office 365, OneDrive for Business or Exchange Online with a CMAT account) you will be forwarded to the Trust’s Microsoft authentication page to log in securely to use these services:

 

Problem logging in?

 

  • If you have logged on successfully before, please try your username/password on Outlook Web Access
    Tick the box above the username box titled “I want to change my password after logging on”.
  • If your password has expired you will be prompted for new password when accessing this page.

How do I reset my CMAT password?

On Campus – CMAT Windows PC

  • Log on to any CMAT/Academy computer
  • When you’ve logged on, press the Ctrl, Alt and Del keys at the same time
  • Select Change Password

On Campus – CMAT Apple Mac

  • Note: Staff who primarily use an Apple Mac on campus are advised to change their password on the Mac if possible to ensure the keychain is updated.
  • From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  • Click the Users & Groups icon in the System Preferences window.
  • Select your user name from the list of users.
  • Click Change Password, then follow the onscreen prompts.
  • When you change your user account password, be sure to update the Hint field as well, so that the hint makes sense for your new password.
  • After changing the password, users must, if the keychain utility prompts to update the keychain, click “Update” or “Update All”

Off Campus

  • Option 1:
    Go to http://account.cmat.cloud, enter your e-mail address and details (example below) and click submit.
  • Option 2:
    Go to https://mail.cmatrust.net/owa  and tick the box above the username box titled “I want to change my password after logging on”.
    Click logon and it will take you to change password feature.

Password policy summary

Students

  • Password must be at least 5 characters long
  • Must contain at least three of: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols
  • Must be changed every 365 days

Staff

  • Password must be at least 8 characters long
  • Must contain at least three of: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols
  • Must be changed every 60 days
