David Ruddy

Vice Chair, Trust Board of Directors

David worked in the motor industry for over 35 years, starting as an apprentice mechanical engineer and then holding various other roles with both private and blue chip companies – culminating in a number of senior executive positions within the Jardine motor group.

Seeking new challenges and passionate about education he has worked in the Further Education sector for 8 years. As the Director of Employability and Community Learning at West Suffolk College he is responsibility for planning, co-ordinating and delivering the operational logistics of Adult Education including English, Maths, English for Speakers of other Languages as well as the National Citizen Service, Traineeships, and pre-employment/engagement programs across Suffolk and south Norfolk.

David is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and was a governor of Swavesey Village College from 2004 – 2014 where he held the role of Chair for 6 years.

He has a number of Non – Executive board roles working with external organisations and stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities which allows the college and its partners to deliver their strategic objectives. His other main activity is rugby where he is a Developing Player Pathway Coach for Northampton Saints, a selector for Midlands U18’s and an RFU accredited National Selector.

David is a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry, and a former pension trustee.
