John Hall MBE
After an early career as a teacher at Wetherby High School he left teaching to work in Antarctica for a few years. With the exception of two years as a warden/ranger in the Northumberland National Park he has remained with the British Antarctic Survey in a variety of roles since the 1970’s.
John is an experienced manager with a proven 30 years history of leadership and management of people, projects and resources.
As Head of Operations Group for the British Antarctic Survey he is responsible for planning, co-ordinating and delivering the operational logistics for the BAS programmes. He also works closely with external organisations & stakeholders including Universities, Research Institutes, Industry, Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), Ministry of Defence (MOD) and a wide range of International Collaborators. In 2014 he was awarded an MBE for his services to Antarctic research.
