Steve Howard

Executive Principal, Nene Park Academy and Corby Development

Steve was responsible for writing the successful Specialist Science Status application for Swavesey Village College in September 2003, its re-designation application in 2007 and, after taking SVC to HPSS status, its second specialism application for Languages in 2008. He led the strategic development and management of ICT at the college and was also responsible for the development of the diploma lines of learning.

Steve sat on the Cambridgeshire BSF ICT evaluation panel, the SSAT Eastern Region Headteachers steering group and was actively involved in supporting the work of a range of Schools for the SSAT.

As an SSAT Lead Practitioner co-ordinator he led a team of 10 National Lead Practitioners. Steve supported schools through the National Challenge and Gaining Ground programmes through conferences, outreach and partnership work. After joining Nene Park Academy as the Vice Principal with the CMAT intervention team in 2010 he is now the Principal at NPA and also the Chair of the Peterborough Partnership of secondary schools, a director for the Peterborough Learning Partnership, a member of the executive board of Teach East (the Peterborough SCITT) and a member of the Peterborough pupil referral service management board.

Steve has a career which has involved teaching in Lancashire, Devon, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
