Trust Governance and Compliance Manager
Suzanne’s career has been in Finance, HR and Leadership and for over 25 years she has been working in the education sector, both private and state. For 17 years she was the School Business Manager at Stamford Welland Academy and was a member of the Senior Leadership Team. In June 2016 she retired from the post and was appointed to the part time post of Governance and Compliance Manager for the trust.
Suzanne has always taken a keen interest in governance. Over the years she has delivered training courses for governance across the UK. Suzanne also worked for the DfE Value for Money Unit working with schools across the East Midlands in a consultancy role. She was a trustee for 7 years for The National Association of School Business Management and in 2015 was awarded the fellowship of NASBM, now known as ISBL (Institute of School Business Leadership). And in September 2017 became a trustee (finance) for a local primary academy.
With her experiences and skills Suzanne will play an essential role in establishing new governance structures across the trust, ensuring they are robust enough to support the trust’s growth. She will evaluate practice, advise and support on all issues around governance and ensure that arrangements are effective, enabling the trust to meet its statutory obligations and achieve its strategic vision. She is committed to maximising the welfare and education of the students through her work in governance.
