Victoria Lloyd

Headteacher of Stamford Welland Academy

Vicky was appointed as Headteacher of Stamford Welland Academy in April 2018.
Following a Sports Science degree and then a PGCE in PE and English at Loughborough University, Vicky started her teaching career at John Ferneley College in Melton Mowbray where she taught PE and English for 5 years. She then moved on to become a Partnership Development Manager for the Melton and Belvoir School Sport Partnership. This was a national initiative aimed at raising whole school standards through physical activity whilst increasing young people’s involvement in PE and sport. Vicky led a Partnership of 30 schools – primary, secondary and special schools and she also delivered a large amount of CPD on a local, county and national level around the work of School Sport Partnerships.

From there she moved to Belvoir High School (later to become Priory Belvoir Academy), where she started out as Head of PE and Head of key stage 4. She then moved onto the senior team, becoming Assistant Head in charge of Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare. She then became Deputy Head at the same school with a shift in responsibility to Curriculum and Pupil Outcomes. During her 6 years on the senior team, Vicky used her pastoral and behaviour management experience in the external reviews of other secondary schools and also working in partnership with local universities, training trainee teachers in behaviour management.
